Two Four-Pillars charts side by side — read your marriage and relationship fit through Five-Element interactions, useful-god complementarity, and zodiac harmony.
What is BaZi marriage compatibility?
BaZi marriage compatibility (he hun) is a traditional Zi Ping practice for assessing how two people match, placing both Four Pillars charts (Year, Month, Day, Hour) side by side. It centers on the Five-Element interactions of the Day Masters, whether each side's useful god complements the other, and the harmony or clash between the Year-branch zodiac signs. It is not fatalistic superstition but a way to understand complementarity and friction through the balance of Five-Element energies.
Four dimensions
Day Master interactions
Compares both Day Masters (Day-pillar stems) — a generating relationship signals harmony and support, a controlling one signals tension, revealing the baseline energetic fit.
Useful-god complementarity
Checks whether one person's useful god (the element the chart most needs) is the element the other's chart is strong in — mutual complementarity is the key auspicious sign in he hun.
Zodiac harmony & clash
Reads Year-branch zodiac signs for six-harmony and three-harmony (auspicious) versus punishment, clash, and harm (needing mediation) — the most commonly cited folk factor.
Ten Gods structure
Uses the Ten Gods (Direct Officer, Seven Killings, Direct/Indirect Wealth, etc.) to read each side's role and needs in a relationship and their long-term rapport.
